Have you ever thought that things were so surreal that they actually in time became real? Maybe one day you are in a place with a very slow placed lifestyle and then the next you are literally asking a famous actor to bring YOU hors d'oeuvres at a Resort 2014 preview fashion show at a prestigious designer's private house. This is exactly how my whole entire summer has been and I have enjoyed it all. While this may not be the exact same scenario for you all, I am sure many of you can relate in some way. There are so many things we think that are surreal, impossible, and maybe not even meant for us to experience. But honestly, who are we to say that? So, when life brings you opportunities, take them and run! You never know where you will end up.

Oh, Navy and White
Navy and white seem to be on my mind a lot lately. Why, you might ask. I have been spending a lot of time picking out decor for my first apartment this year at school. I have just fallen in love with these two colors. Together, they are simply the definition of classic chic. Decorating an apartment, or even simply a bedroom, is a commitment. It demonstrates a part of you and is yet another way to let your creativity shine through. Here are some ideas that have been running through my mind. We shall see how it all comes together!

Hey, Mrs. DJ
I have found myself recently fascinated with the new DJ'ing trend in the fashion industry. It amazes me how many models, celebrities, and even full-time college students are becoming hits as DJ's AND respected for their style and image in the fashion industry. DJ'ing is yet another way to let loose, express your creativity, and have fun all while entertaining others. Harley Viera Newton is an amazingly talented DJ, former college student, model, bass and guitar player, and fashion icon. This girl has got it all! She is just one of the many new and respected young DJ's in the fashion industry. Check out a promo she did with Sebastian.

Live in Love
Have you ever been to a wedding that was just absolutely breath-taking? I'm talking about a wedding that would be found on Pinterest, constantly "pinned" by many. This weekend I had the opportunity to attend one of those. Now, this wedding is just the start to a great journey of a life in love for my cousin Lauren and her new husband, DJ. Lauren and DJ's wedding was truly perfect. It was not only a night for two families to become united, but also a big "family reunion" for my large, Italian side of the family. Having this large of a family, it was truly amazing to be surrounded by so many people and experience this event together. It is now a memory we will all cherish forever. From the beautiful hand-crafted Mexican-style tile table settings and the Smore's bar, to the picture-taking booth and the outrageous view at the resort in beautiful Santa Barbara, much thought went into each and every little detail. And it truly showed! Cheers to Lauren and DJ and a weekend we will never forget!

Dancing with LV
There is something about dance that makes me smile. It brings me back to my childhood. Growing up a dancer, I was able to express myself in one of my many passions. Dance allowed me to not only experience many various ways to move my muscles and gain flexibility, but also it instilled in me a sense of responsibility and structure. Louis Vuitton's online ad presents a beautiful choreographed dance in combination with product placement. Seeing this ad brought me back to my childhood and allowed me to reminisce my dancing days. This ad was beautifully done. It is so unique and creative.

Floral Me Boho
Do you remember being a little girl and picking flowers that you walked by and putting them behind your ear, always wanting to wear them in your hair? This is one of my many childhood memories and I am happy to say that I like the new floral head piece trend. There is something about floral head pieces that makes me smile. You can wear them as an accessory to any outfit or even for a special occasion. I recently bought one at a local farmers market and was so happy when I found it! I had been looking for one with flowers that were not too large. It inspired me to want to make one of my own. Plus, they are extremely easy to make. I might just have to start a collection! Here are some floral head pieces that I love!

Let Freedom Ring
In honor of the fourth of July, I decided to post some patriotic inspired pieces and fashion finds. Whether it is wearing your favorite red, white and blue outfit, adding a simple touch of red, white, and blue (like a flower head wrap), or even simply wearing stars and stripes, I hope this finds you feeling festive today. Happy 4th everyone!

Pure Bliss
Have you ever just wanted to go out on a whim and try something new? I am not the most adventurous person, but at times the little adventure side in me comes out. There is something that I have always wanted to do. That is to go paddle boarding. I have never been before and now it is THE thing to do, especially living so close to the beach. But, recently I discovered that people are doing paddle board yoga. Studios and paddle board businesses are offering classes for beginners to try this new trend. Now, if you know me, I LOVE yoga and the thought of combining these two things sounds both exhilarating and challenging. Who doesn't like a challenge?

Inspiring the Uninspired
Want to hear something inspiring? Annie Elble has dedicated herself to philanthropy and service. As the founder of Give Hope, Fight Poverty, Annie has not only provided educational service learning trips to children in Swaziland, Africa, but she has allowed me to pursue one of my many passions.
Ever since high school, I have been passionate about helping children in various parts of Africa. After being approached by my friend Allie to be the Public Relations chair for the Invisible Children Club she helped found on our high school campus, I was determined to make even the smallest difference! So, I wanted to continue this passion and dream of mine somehow, someway in college.

So, I wanted to continue this passion and dream of mine somehow, someway in college.
After reaching out to Annie through
a few mutual friends, I expressed my desire to help her spread her mission, fundraiser, and educate the students on my campus about her wonderful nonprofit organization. Of course, she said yes and happily flew out to come meet me. One of my friends, Maggie, was very interested in this organization and had the same passion as both Annie and I, so I asked if she wanted to help and be a campus ambassador with me. Maggie was very excited and agreed!
Annie is truly such an inspiration to me! At such a young age and place in her life, she is determined to make a difference and it shows. What she has done for these children in Swaziland has changed their lives forever!
You can visit her organization at www.ifightpoverty.org to learn more about it.

Life as a 90's Child
Do you ever randomly reminisce about your childhood years and all of the fads and trends that were part of those years? Well, today I had one of those days. Being a 90's kid, I experienced many trends (some bad), but mostly good that I wanted to remember today. It is always fun to think about the various trends throughout the generations and to even see some still in fashion today. For the rest of you 90's babies, here is a trip down memory lane.
1. Jelly shoes
I don't know about you, but I loved my jelly shoes. I had about every color of these clear plastic shoes and rocked them. While they still exist today, these shoes definitely bring me back to my childhood.
2. Fruit Stripe Gum
This gum was my favorite! Whenever I go to an old fashioned candy store, I have to get it!
3. Lisa Frank
It was Lisa Frank everything for me. From school supplies to my backpack to my arts and crafts. I loved her rainbow colored accessories.
4. Furbys
As much as I hate to admit it, I had a few too many of these. These creepy little creatures (which I once found cute) made noises at night on top of the closet shelves and would not stop! However, they are still a 90's fad.

I loved collecting these cute little animals made exclusively by TY. My mom, to this day, will not let me part with them.

La vie est belle
I like this little phrase as we enter the weekend. I think sometimes, especially after a hectic and busy week that many of us have had, it is important to remember the little things.

It Girl
We all have one those friends who is basically perfect. They are involved in everything. They have a great social life. They attend a great University. And on top of that all, they still are an amazing friend to us. Well, it just so happens that I have one of those. Since she won't do it, I am going to brag for her. Meet my friend Allie. She is her Sorority Chapter President, she has two internships, and she is attending a great school. She balances all of this while having fun and hanging out with her friends (and of course coming to visit me a couple states away!) If that isn't enough to keep her busy, she just recently became the new "It girl" and intern for an adorable blog aimed at sorority girls. You can check out pictures from her photo shoot on the blog: Sorority Secrets . This blog gives us sorority women updates on the latests trends, some inspirations for DIY projects, and even little beauty tips here and there.

The Best Kept Secret in Cleansing
I'm sure many of you are aware of the new juice trend. You know? The one where people cleanse. Drink those green juices. Eat clean. Organic only. Well, I jumped right on this so called trend and had to try these magical green juices. After many attempts of unsatisfying green combinations, I finally found "the one." Located in a cute wellness-minded shopping center, Ritual Juicebox, founded by Ritual Wellness, has amazing 100% organic, raw, cold pressed juices! And they just opened up their second location! Amazing tasting juices and even better for you! Enjoy!

Stay Classy, Ladies
I have been noticing many trends coming full circle, as they usually do, and thought it would be neat to picture some of the classy women from the past. From the cat eye liner to round glasses to head scarves to high waisted jeans and then to high neckline cocktail dresses, these women inspired and coined many of the styles that are back on the runway and even in our closets today! Stay classy, ladies.

Trendy Taylor
If you haven't seen pictures of Taylor Swift from the Much Music Awards that took place this past Sunday night, well then you will now! Taylor Swift looked flawless in a black and white Herve Leger by Max Azria dress. This look has probably been one of her best looks of all times and I think it was such a risk for her to take because it was so out of her element. But, she rocked it! Go Taylor.

Mad for Mason Jars
If there is something right now that I can't get enough of, it is definitely mason jars. I am obsessed with anything pertaining to interior design and it just so happens that I have my first apartment at school this year. So, I get to play designer and decorator for awhile. It is for this reason that mason jars have particularly been on my mind. They are so practical and not to mention adorable. You can paint them, put flowers in them, store food in them, and use them as glasses. And they will make a perfect little touch to the shabby chic look I am going for!

Bikini Body, Ready or Not Here We Come
For those of you fitness gurus that are craving that perfect bikini-ready body, I have found a workout routine that will do just the job and is very time-efficient. Now I don't know about you, but I have a hard time getting myself motivated to workout on my own. Aside from my expectations of being fit, healthy, and staying active, I can't really get a good workout in on my own without getting distracted. I do much better attending a yoga or barre class, or even just having someone coach or guide me. Fear not if you have this problem too, as this "Scientific 7- Minute Workout" is easy to follow along. This workout has been proven to target multiple muscles in a very timely manner, providing no time for distractions in this quick but totally worth it 7 minutes. It includes a very high level of intensity and it is completely based on science. Each exercise should be done for 30 second intervals with 10 second rest periods in between. Below is also a video with each of the exercises and a timer, so you can follow along! Try it out and let me know what you think!

The Little Things
Ever since I can remember, I have loved stationary. When I was younger, I loved to collect everything from colored paper to thank-you cards to business cards. I admired the designs, the details, and what these little pieces of paper allowed me to do with my creativity. They inspired me. Now, I have recently purchased some new thank-you cards with the idea in mind that I need to focus on sending little notes and handwritten cards more often. A simple hand written note or thank-you card can mean so much and isn't done as often as it once was. But, that doesn't mean it has lost any importance!
